Severe Wx NCS Training (GRLevel3)

We’ve been having a very high number of Wx Net Activations and recently Activated twice on the same day! Spotters are doing a great job, but we’re a little thin in terms of R1D5 members that can successfully run a Severe Wx Net using weather radar software (such as GRLevel3).

Jim Rooney/N4JJR is planning to conduct a small workshop next month for the next generation of R1D5 Severe Wx Net Control operators. He’ll cover all facets of Net control from Script to logging and reporting observations. The crux of the workshop is the GRLevel3 viewer for NEXRAD Level III data helps our Net Control person vector spotters to the best spotting positions while minimizing risk of spotters getting banged up in from a hail core.
