2025 Elizabeth Stampede Rodeo

The crisp air in the pines and beautiful sunsets provided the backdrop for one of the first and most exciting PRCA rodeos of the season. From the opening concert to the arena floor and the excitement of the Chute Out and rodeo, the Elizabeth Stampede had something for everyone this year. The parade down the main street of Elizabeth, Colorado brought the closely knit town together again to celebrate a rich heritage in the western way of life and promotes a sense of community.

It was in this spirit of community that the Elbert County Office of Emergency Management, ARES Region 1 District 5 (R1D5) and the Elbert County partner agencies (law enforcement, medical, fire and event staff) worked together to pull off yet another successful event with no mishap or emergency to participants and patrons. The weather was perfect, sunny, in the 70s, and of course, a threat for rain that occurred only once over the 4 day event.

ARES R1D5 team members worked in shifts during the 4 day event to monitor DTRS public service radios to help manage traffic between the various partners and event staff to ensure a smooth experience for all involved. Each ARES member had the opportunity to roam the venue for situational awareness and report any concerns to appropriate authorities. Vendor alley always had some good eats as well.

ARESDEC is a proud partner with the Elizabeth Stampede to provide event leadership with communications support for situational awareness, weather monitoring and reporting, medical incident reporting, assisting law enforcement and fire dispatch with comms as needed. ARESDEC (Amateur Radio Emergency Service of Douglas and Elbert Counties) is an all-volunteer public service organization, consisting of licensed and trained Amateur Radio operators whose mission is to provide communications support for community events and in times of emergency.
