Snow and Winlink. Is this an ARES version of Winter Field Day? Several ARES R1D5 members braved the weather to exhibit their Winlink setups or get help using Packet, VARA FM, and VARA HF. The workshop included two presentations – 1) Winlink using an Anytone 578/868/878, and 2) compressing and sending photos by email. Gary, WB5PJB, stayed home and setup three peer-to-peer stations for members to try. Walt, AB0VZ, won the VARA HF distance contest.
How many white Diamond X30 or X50 antennas do you see in the pictures above? They blend in quite well with the snow background.
