The American Radio Relay League (ARRL) has published the results from to 2024 Field Day event, held last June, in the December 2024 issue of “QST” magazine, and online as well. Nearly 32,000 amateur radio operators in the United States participated, either individually or as part of an organized club, to setup their radio gear “in the field” to make as many contacts as possible in a 24-hour period. While this event is not technically considered to be a contest, points are awarded for each contact, in various categories based on the number of transmitters, type of electric utility power utilized, as well as the mode.
ARESDEC operated using the callsign N0KV this year, and ranked number 51 nationally with 9,400 total points across all categories. Nationally, we came in tenth place in the “3A” category, operating no more than three transmitters simultaneously without using commercial electric utility power. In the Colorado section, we ranked third overall. Congratulations to all who participated in the event!
